Daang Madugo
by Sankage Steno
Puking ina mo! Taga-UP ka ba talaga? Bobo! Sino ka ba sa tingin mo? Bakit kailangang magpaliwanag kami sa iyo? Mag-research ka! Di ka na lang magbigti? Bakit di ka pa mamatay? ‘Pag nakita kita ipapabugbog kita!
‘Wag, please.
- Single ako, 5’10”, chinito, open to dating/right now/relationship.
I’m giving you a taste of your own medicine. You like it? Good.
Ano ‘to, martial law ulit? Free speech, baby. Walang ganyan noong panahon ni Marcos.)
Kaya, in a way, pampalakas din ng loob ‘to sa mga silent majority.
- May political will siya.
- Kapakanan ng bansa ang inuuna niya.
- Peace and order
- Federalism
(Oops, sorry. Nakakahawa talaga si Digong.)
Ang tanong, pagbabago ba talaga ang kailangan natin? At ano o sino ba dapat ang magbago? Kung ako ang tatanungin, I prefer continuity over change.
Life is not cheap.

It’s not surprising. The “padrino” system and everything that comes with it is institutionalized. The yellow administration was able to manage serving two lords at the same time… the party (plus the associated oligarchs) and the people (although there were flaws in some instances). But of course it should be the people over the party in all instances.

I’m back and I’m all fueled up, had 2 hours of sleep and now I want to say something rather close to my heart. Basic Human rights.
A war on crime is a war on drugs, An all-out war on crime, is an all-out war on drugs. A war on drugs would simply fail, it is ineffective, costly, and will stomp on basic human rights.
Smarter people have failed (I’m talking to you US!), and basic economics will tell you why. Well, I can’t expect everyone to know basic economics so I’ll expound on it. When you take on a war on drugs, you try to remove the suppliers and the supply. Keyword here is supply. Yet, demand doesn’t decrease. What happens then? Unlike other goods, drugs are not price sensitive, they would always be consumed and demand for this will always be high. That’s why people who take them are called “Addicts”. Simple enough?
What happens then? Price of drug increases, it becomes more expensive.
What happens next? It will be more profitable for groups to engage in business, they would find ways to deliver especially big cartels.
What happens next? Instead of rehabilitating these addict’s we’ll have more inmates in our already over populated prisons?
Then? We get to the killing part, people will get accused. Innocent people will get accused. Small time users will be accused. They will be killed. Their human rights will be stomped on.
Then? well this was supposed to be the first one, but it will backfire. Giving higher power to the police/military has been proven time and time and time again to be ineffective. It will cause more corruption and death instead of preventing it.
Then what should we do?
We shouldn’t have a war on crime, we should have reduction of harm. Harm reduction!
We tackle the root of the problem and not it’s symptoms. We focus on the demand rather than the supply.
How?
We create better rehabilitation policies. We create better rehabilitation plans?
Can this be done?
Yes! it has been done.
What else?
We tackle poverty, we tackle poverty alleviation. We give our poor the chance to enjoy the richness of life.
How?
Now, that’s the question. We need not just political will. We invest in Education for one. For the rest? It would take more than a single brain to come up with that one. We need collective thinking.
Please guys, violence is not the answer.
Do you care for what we who support extrajudicial killings say?
Well if you are part of the group that supports basic human rights violations. Part of a group not holding someone accountable for admitting, and declaring that he is a killer.
If you are part of a group that wants a killer, someone who hasn’t even thought out how his plans may backfire.
Then I would say, no, I don’t care for what you have to say.
Another thing, PUTANGINA NYO! (Nakakahawa talaga si Digong eh)

What makes you think those things that you want can’t be done in a Duterte presidency? I’m all for that but if all we have are long-term solutions, what about the short term? We need both in concert as a wholistic solution.
And would you please just stop with that extrajudicial killing nonsense already? I’m sick and tired of this bullshit being regurgitated from biased mainstream media and shady politicians. Repeating the extrajudicial killing card only shows that you have a very limited source of information.
Now let’s get back to our options aside from Duterte. Putang ina they’ve been in national government for some time now and yet those things that you want have not been accomplished by them. These same people who say they’ll do it but only if we make them president.

“Extrajudicial killing nonsense”? Hindi siya bullshit argument at may rason kung bakit paulit-ulit itong lumilitaw sa mga exchange of opinions about sa competency ni Duterte. At pano mo nasabi na ang pag-reiterate ng “extrajudicial card” equates to acquiring “limied source of information”? Just this little piece of information proves his disrespect to due process, and the law of our country.

Because his platform states otherwise? We’re in for a treat, can’t you see how much is at stake with a war on crime? Power will always be abused. I am here talking about human rights and you want me to skip out on extra judicial killings? You say that these are long term solutions? That’s what we need! Not band aid solutions that will ruin the country in the long run.
Sad that you are supporting someone who brags about killing on national t.v. and you want me to skip out on killings.
Try to research about the war on drugs. Tell me you don’t fear for this country. 6 months is a short time for anything,no one in their right mind should believe this.
You people say you are not voting for him because of this 6 month promise. See, you shouldn’t vote for him exactly for this reason.
I’ve seen this time and time again in the corporate world. Someone pitches he can deliver a brand and six months and then just wastes company resources. Wait until your fucking digong wastes ours.

The extrajudicial killing allegations are nonsense because they’ve only been allegations and nothing, I repeat, nothing was ever filed in court even by LP’s De Lima. All the detractors keep repeating it but there’s no substance to it.
Tanga Lord, his platform doesn’t say otherwise. Ilang beses na nga nya sinabi eh na he will replicate Davao City to the rest of the nation. Do you know what that means? Rehabs with monthly allowance for addicts who willingly surrender, free 911 services, assurances to the police that the government has their and their family’s back as long as they do their duties, etc.
What’s worse is you let the distorted lens of mainstream media and corrupt candidates dictate how you view it. The fact that you even refer to it as “killing” only shows how distorted your view is.

Hay Nako, regardless whether they are allegations or not, HIM stating it in national T.V is already an issue.
Have you read his plans sir? Do you really think he can police everyone? hay and you say media twists my views? sad that you can’t see the point of this. Anyway, best of luck.
I’m just saying smarter people have tried and failed to achieve what he wants. 368 billion dollars a year wasted on the war on drugs, instead of being used in poverty alleviation. You can’t do everything. You focus on the symptoms to diagnose the disease, you need to treat the disease else everything else is worthless.
You see, you guys think we are against you. No, we are fighting for everyone living in this country. As I said, it has been done, and it has failed. You can’t empower the police and say that harm reduction is one of his top concerns.
haaaaaaay, to tell you the truth I was against Duterte even before he ran for president. My heart broke when he declared his candidacy. I wept for the gullible people who would throw away their values to follow a Machiavellian.

Life is cheap sa Pilipinas, let’s face it yan ang totoo!

Doon, may due process.

“Killed criminals in the line of duty”? That’s just a fancy phrase for “extrajudicial killings.” Ang judiciary branch pa rin, at the end of the day, ang may hawak ng batas.

You do not necessarily let another innocent victim to die, kaya nga may alternative na ang death penalty na life imprisonment without possibility of parole. Sorry nakakahawa nga talaga. There is no single truth, and each person has their own truth. Let me share my “truth”.
I always beleieved that a benevolent dictatorship is the perfect form of governance. Perfect meaning unattainable, an idea, because no one is benevolent and no one can stay benevolent. This, I think, is what the Filipino people are looking for. Except, Duterte is not benevolent and here comes the problem.
Now the problem here is what the Filipino people who are desperate for change are willing to sacrifice, knowingly and unknowingly, to achieve this change. I’ve told this to my friends a lot, but would you let your kid watch Duterte. I am afraid for the children. I’m not sure about the others but I was always taught that killing is a big no-no. Bragging about it just makes you worse. I’d expound on this, but well, I don’t really have the drive to talk about it anymore.

again, medyo unfair po na nagegeneralize ang supporters ni Duterte as fanatics or hindi nagiisip. A lot posted meaningful counter-arguments which the author did not bother answering. Tama naman kami diba? That blog post was not aimed to encourage discussion/elicit an answer to the author’s questions. sabi mo nga (author), it was aimed to what, get Duterte’s fans a taste of their own medicine?
People fear Digong’s supporters/mga kampon as you say. But Digong didn’t give birth to these “fanatics”. Hindi niya sinabihan yung “fans” niya na awayin yung mga supporters ng ibang party – the “fans” did that on their own.
Ang tanong, where did they come from? Why do those people exist? Why are they thirsty for change? Nagkataon lang na Duterte represents something (na napagusapan na natin recently); and a lot of Filipinos were driven ripe to follow him.

That’s a cop out. You asked for a discourse and now you hide behind the excuse that there was too much chaff mixed with the wheat. You’re on the Internet, what did you expect?
You just wasted everyone’s time including yours.
Sayang, I was hoping I’d get an intelligent response from you for every valid counterpoint raised ng mga commenters. Kasi nga, akala ko from UP ka. What a disappointment.

Hi Joseph. Magsusulat ako ng bagong blog to address most of the comments and, if time permits, I’ll post the link of that blog to the comment section as my reply. Salamat sa pagbabasa at pagpuna.
